Last week, the Arkansas Activities association ruled that the Lamar Warrior football team would have to forfeit their conference games for using an alleged ineligible player. It knocked them out of 2nd place in conference, and out of the playoffs.
They then lost their case in front of a Arkansas Activities Association Sub-Committee on Tuesday, where they presented their case to 7 board members. Thursday, they filed an injunction.
The case was heard in front of independent counsel Thursday afternoon into the evening in Russellville.
Based on the decision of Circuit Court Judge Gordon Mc Cain, the class 3A State Football Playoffs, which were scheduled to start Friday, will be suspended indefinitely. The ruling took place at the Pope County Courthouse on Thursday.
Area schools that are affected by this decision include Mansfield, Lavaca, Cedarville, and Paris. Charleston is also affected, but was scheduled to have a bye Friday.
If the AAA appeals the decision, we'll bring it to you as it develops on www.5newsonline.com.
