TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Cherokee County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the victim of Saturday afternoon's collision as 48-year-old Robert E. Ketcher of Park Hill.

The collision occurred at 1:42 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 62 and county road 835 about four miles west of Tahlequah.

Troopers say the victim was westbound on U.S. 62 when a pickup truck that was stopped in a private driveway failed to yield and struck his motorcycle.

Ketcher was thrown 147 feet from the point of impact. The patrol says he was pronounced dead at the scene with head trauma and other injuries.

Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet.
