MAUMELLE, Ark. (AP) — State highway officials say motorists traveling between Mayflower and Maumelle on U.S. 365 should be alert to possible traffic backups on the highway for a couple of days.

The state Highway and Transportation Department said an inspection of the highway's bridge over Palarm Creek at the Pulaski-Faulkner county line will require a lane close Wednesday and Thursday. The agency said in a news release that the southbound lane will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
