BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) — The jury trial of a man accused of being an accomplice to murder has been postponed at Bentonville.
The trial of 20-year-old Uris Magana-Galdamez was slated to start Tuesday, but Benton County Circuit Judge David Clinger agreed to the postponement sought by both the prosecution and defense. Clinger set a pretrial hearing for Dec. 14, and Magana-Galdamez' lawyer, Marianne Hudson, said a trial date would be discussed at that hearing.
Springdale authorities arrested Magana-Galdamez and 21-year-old Erickson Dimas-Martinez on Jan. 3 in connection with the slaying of 17-year-old Derrick Jefferson on Dec. 30. Dimas-Martinez is to be tried separately on a capital murder charge.
