BRYANT, Ark. (AP) — A former Pulaski County Special School District official has been sentenced to 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated.

Thirty-nine-year-old Tommy Broyles was sentenced after pleading guilty Thursday in Saline County. He was also fined $1,580.

Broyles was arrested in March after being stopped by a Bryant police officer for swerving.

His blood-alcohol level registered 0.267 — more than three times the legal limit of 0.08.

School district spokeswoman Deborah Roush says Broyles resigned as director of special education on Sept. 1. Roush says Broyles cited health reasons.
