Tonight was a big night for everyone involved in making the award-winning independent film "War Eagle, Arkansas", especially for the two men whose story the movie is based on.
Tim Baloney and Vincent Insalaco III have been friends for 25 years and to share their story with the world means everything to both of them. Their friendship is unique and special and at the heart of the movie. Tim has cerebral palsy and Vincent has a debilitating stutter. Together, they make a complete person.
On the red carpet tonight, Vincent and Tim both described the experience of seeing their life on film as "surreal". They both said they could not believe this was all happening, but they are thrilled that it is, because of the message others are getting through their story.
Tim and Vincent want people to walk away from this movie realizing that people with disabilities are people too. They feel the same emotions, deal with the same struggles, and love with the same hearts as the rest of us.
Sitting in the audience you could feel the emotion coming from the audience. There was a lot of laughter, a lot of emotion, and maybe even a few tears. Just the emotion the film's producer Vincent Insalaco II wanted to see.
Tonight's event was sponsored by United Cerebral Palsy.
