The Class 3A football playoffs will begin this Friday, after the Arkansas Activities Association announced today that the suspension has been lifted.

The AAA suspended the 3A postseason last week, amid an eligibility dispute with an athlete on the Lamar football team. The association ruled that Lamar used an ineligible player and had to forfeit five conference wins, knocking the school out of consideration for postseason participation. But today, the AAA reinstated Lamar High School as the second place team from the Class 3A 4 Conference.

"With guidance of the AAA Board of Directors and our legal council the AAA had decided that it was in the best interest of our member schools and student-athletes to begin the Class 3A state football playoffs," said AAA Executive Director Lance Taylor.

The Class 3A state championship game will be played at Estes Stadium on the University of Central Arkansas Campus Friday. The class 2A state championship game has been moved to Saturday, Dec. 12 at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
