Van Buren Police have arrested a Crawford County man after they found him with items they believe were being used for a "Shake and Bake" methamphetamine lab.
Narcotics officers arrested 36 year old Terry McGraw for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Manufacture. Officers received a tip that McGraw was in the area of South 11th and Vine on Tuesday. Police say they saw McGraw carrying a bucket between two apartments just south of the Police Department. He dropped the bucket and fled on foot when approached, but was arrested after a short chase.
Officers found several components of a meth lab inside the bucket, as well as in McGraw's vehicle which was parked nearby.
The "Shake and Bake" method of making meth is a faster, cheaper way to make the drug. Police say it is becoming more popular and they have recently encountered more meth labs using the method.
McGraw is being held in the Crawford County Jail.
