Investigators are still piecing together the tragedy that happened on October fourth.

Right now they believe 26-year-old Devin Pendleton was changing the 17 month old Alexis' diaper when he became angry with the child for crying.

The child was taken to Children's Hospital in Little Rock for severe head trauma, possibly caused by impact with the kitchen floor.

Aalexis died on October 6th. "She was a little Rugrat. She loved Finding Nemo and the Wall-E Cartoon. She carried around a Nemo blanket and a little Nemo stuffed animal everywhere she went. She loved to smile and she was a big ham for the camera. Just a beautiful little baby," said Alexis' grandfather Will Shores.

Because the investigation is still ongoing, Shores could not comment on the specifics of the case.

However he wanted to stop the rumors swirling around and let the investigators do their job. "A lot of us say we're Christians and I think this is when it counts to not only go around saying it, but seeing it. To see some respect and reverence for people," said Shores.

But there is a silver lining.

Alexis' parents have decided to donate her organs.

Because of Alexis, five young children have a chance at life. "During such a tragedy, they just gave. And it was really mature of them and I'm very proud of them and of the way they've acted. And I'm proud for the families. I'm glad they're receiving some life out of it so. It's a wonderful thing," he said.

The family says they are understandably grieving the death of this beautiful child,

and they hope that people will respect their privacy and the privacy of Devin Pendleton during this time.

Pendleton is being held at the Crawford County Detention Center.

He is expected to have a bond hearing next week.
