Dylan Rutherford will always remember August 26th.
It's the day the Make A Wish Foundation made one of his wishes come true.
"It's like winning the lottery. It's a gift that keeps on going for years and years to come. I just can't believe it's happening to us. It's just amazing. It's a once in a lifetime chance," said Dylan's mother Geri Bliss.
Dylan was diagnosed with a degenerative muscle disease in November.
The disease has forced him to quit the football team.
So he turned to his other passion- fishing.
The Make A Wish Foundation arranged for truck loads of gear and a brand new boat to be delivered to Dylan.
He even met pro fisher Ray Schiede, who invited Dylan to join him on the lake to fish.
For a boy with a life threatening illness, this means everything. "It means a whole lot. I want to take all the people who love me and take all my buddies out fishing with me," Dylan said. "It's overwhelming. To give the way they give. It just leaves you kinda speechless," said Bliss.
Dylan is staying involved in sports as the pitcher for his school baseball team.
And since quitting the football team, Dylan has been helping coach. "He's still going and he's going to keep on going," said his mother.
