A Crawford County family is counting their blessings today after lightning struck their home last night.
Theresa Brewer of Alma was in the living room when her electricity went out around 7:15 last night.
To pass the time, she went into her bedroom to find a book.
Instead, she found a hole in her wall and smoke coming from her bedroom.
Brewer says she's glad no one was in the room at the time of the strike.
"I'm just grateful everybody is okay. We had some really good friends and family come to help us out get everything covered last night, very grateful for that."
Brewer says they will have to replace their heat pump and some appliances as well as repair the damage to the bedroom that they had just finished remodeling.
