Reports have come in to the station about a baby left in a car, possibly for hours.
The incident happened at Milton Elementary School in Ozark.
While at the hospital, we spoke to the Ozark Chief of Police, Jim Noggle.
Turns out, Noggle is the baby's uncle.
He was able to confirm for us that the baby is 16 months old and the baby is alive.
Because of privacy laws, Noggle did not know the baby's condition at this time.
And because of Noggle's relation to the baby, the Ozark Police are turning the case over to Arkansas State Police.
Police are remaining tight lipped about the case, but a staff member at the Milton elementary school in Ozark told 5 News that a employee at the school, possibly a teacher, left a toddler in a car in the school parking lot.
Police are unsure of how long the child was in the car.
He was freed this afternoon and remains at the hospital late today. The Arkansas State Police told us they would have more information available in the morning. Things got a little heated while we tried covering this story.
Our photographer was videotaping the exterior of the hospital when a large group of family members swarmed our vehicle and threatened us, telling us to not to get out of the car, and telling us to leave.
The police were called to the scene, who informed the family we had every right to be there.
