Family of Murdered Bar Owner Wants Answers
It's been nine weeks since Joe Neff's body was found in a pond in Pocola, even longer since a bloody crime scene was left behind at his bar in Poteau.

But the investigation to find his killer is slow going, and his family wants answers.

We spoke to Joe Neff's daughter, who did not want to be shown on camera.

Not knowing who killed her father has forced her to live in fear.

She has not returned to work, and only leaves the house when she has to. "When someone passes away, everybody else gets on with their life and I feel like mine has stopped and it hasn't continued. I don't feel safe for my family, my kids, I don't feel safe myself. Going to Wal-Mart or any store, getting gas, whatever. The person that killed my dad could be right there beside us, and I would never know."

So far there has been little progress in the investigation.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has said they think whoever killed Joe Neff was from the area.

"One thing that bothers me is that my dad died before Fathers Day. He died in May and then Fathers Day, and his birthday is in July. And whoever did this, they didn't consider the fact that we would have to go wish a grave a happy Fathers Day or Happy Birthday. And they probably don't care," she said. And now Neff's daughter has a message that she wants to get out. "I hope everyone out there realizes that this could happen to anybody. I never dreamed that I would be out here trying to find my dad's killer, but I am."

Joe Neff owned the Long Branch Saloon in Poteau.

His birthday is the 31st of this month.

He would have been 62.
