The West Fork Fire Department spent the afternoon putting out a house fire on N. Centennial Ave. Fortunately, no one was home at the time.
Officials say the fire had originally started around 6 a.m. this morning, but rekindled, causing them to go back around 12:30 p.m. Officials say the fire was much worse this time. The home was vacant because the people who lived their had recently moved out.
"To have this all happen, and just burn down is very sad. We're lucky they weren't living in there still," says Nancy Utcht, sister of the homeowner.
The home is a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown, but firefighters on the scene say no one was injured.
