A new baseball league is coming to Northwest Arkansas. The Miracle League is dedicated to giving disabled children the chance to play baseball and local kids in will soon have the same opportunity.

Monday, the organization broke ground today on a new field in Tyson Park in Springdale. The field is to be completely flat and made of recycled rubber for safety and to accommodate children with wheelchairs or walking devices. Construction begins in two weeks and should be complete by the Fall of 2010.

It will be just the second such field in the state and Rotary Club representatives say this field is long overdue.

"We're really excited about it; its going to be a great project not only for Springdale, but Northwest Arkansas. There are a lot of kids who don't get to participate in sports for whatever the disability is, these kids get to play regardless the disability no matter what it is," says Rotary Club member Blake Hanby.

They still need to raise about two hundred thousand dollars for the field. Donations can be made at any local Arvest Bank.
