People prepared for extreme cold temperatures across Benton County Wednesday.

In Bentonville, the Betts family went to Harps to stock up on groceries. "We don't want a repeat of the ice storm where we are without electricity for five days and are unprepared," said Earl Betts.

In Rogers, people put gas in their cars so they wouldn't have to worry about it in the morning, when the wind chill could be below zero degrees.

The Holiman family was hoping to get to Hot Springs before the roads got icy, but their nine-year-old son was skeptical. "I think we're probably going to get into a wreck because of the icy roads."

However, one Bella Vista family was actually looking for a blizzard, only it was at Dairy Queen in the bottom of a cup. "Ice cream is good no matter how good it is outside," said Kathy Harnishfeger.
