Union workers want the state's lawmakers to support the Employees' Free Choice Act.
A rally was held as part of a week long event, designed to educate the public on the bill. The Employees' Free Choice Act would make it easier for employees to join unions. Rally organizers hope to get the attention of Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor.
Stacy Fox from Teamsters Union says, "We feel like basically, if a CEO receives 3, 12, 13 million dollars a year or if one person receives enough salary to completely pay for health care for all his employees, why not get that for them? And as a group, if they are able to form a Union and have a little bit of a voice in the workplace, right now that is one thing they might be able to achieve."
Earlier this month at a meeting of the Little Rock Political Animals Club Senator Lincoln said that she would not vote for the act in its current form.
